Perodua Viva Elite: a new look for the Viva

Perodua launched the new perodua viva elite today, aimed at offering the market a variant with a more stylish image compared to the original ViVA. It is an aesthetic modification in the style of the Myvi SE, and at the same time they've revamped the model line-up a little.

The ViVA was first introduced with 660cc, 850cc, 1,000cc and 1,000cc premium variants. Now it has restructured the model lineup, offering the 660 BX MT, 660 EX MT, 850 MT, 1.0 AT, 1.0 ELITE MT, 1.0 ELITE AT, and the 1.0 ELITE EZi. That's three different variants for the new ViVA ELITE.

Externally, the ViVA Elite has its own front bumper with integrated foglamps, front grille and its own engine hood design. On the side you'll see chrome door handles, side skirts, and 14 inch 12-spoke alloy wheels. On the back you'll see a new rear bumper with a honeycomb grille design, and the 1.0 ELITE EZi model (note, this is different from the ELITE AT) gets an additional rear spoiler. The windows of the ViVA Elite also feature a UV protection coating that is said to reject 91% of UV rays.
On the inside you get a new 1-DIN head unit with MP3 and WMA support, an underside tray under the passenger seat, seat backpockets, a new seat fabric design, and fabric trim on the door panels. All ViVA ELITE models will get seat height adjusters for the driver's seat, and electrically adjustable side mirrors. On the ELITE EZi, these side mirrors are also electrically retractable and have integrated turn signals.

Best fuel saver vehicle in the market

Good way to save on oil is use perodua viva car...

Due to down turn of world economic car manufacture around the world try to produce car which is small engine power ,less fuel consumption, more performance, environmental friendly, easy maintenance, small design, futuristic features and not to forget digital control.

In our country Malaysia one of the successful car maker was Perodua beside Proton. Below is a picture taken from Viva engine which is installed with so called magnatic control..

There is several way how to increase your car performance. Like what my friend told me that you can use magnet from computer hard disc and place it on fuel pipe line on your car engine no matter what brand is your car.

Another way to increase your car performance was install with hydro fuel . Hydro fuel is a technique to combine hydrogen gas with normal petrol. This hydrogen gas was extracted from water and sent to engine to burn together with petrol. To know more about hydro fuel you can read previous post on this blog.

So beside you got extra power you also save your car's fuel consumption.

BAD REVIEW CAR

VIVA CAR – BAD QUALITY CAR

I asked the same salesman to replace the car with a new Viva car but he refused. He directed me to go to a service centre in perak Road. The service centre found no leaking – so nothing was replaced. Feeling scared the car might burn while driving, I parked the car in the garage and hardly used the car. Days later radiator water and wiper water level went down again. This time I found a new problem – sticky liquid drips on my floor from engine area even after not being used for a few days.

The same salesman ordered me to go to a better Perodua service centre located in Segambut. The Segambut service centre did not find any problem. So again nothing was replaced. But the service centre painted the rear brake drum to hide the rust. The front brake disks were left unpainted.

Still feeling scared the car might explode while driving, I parked the car in the garage. A few days later radiator water and wiper water levels went down again. On 2nd visit to the same Segambut service centre, a spare part to solve the water leakage from radiator was replaced by the service centre.

Still feeling unconvinced and scared, I parked the car in my garage again with only a few km drive to charge the battery. A few days later, the radiator water kept reducing again. And again I found pink color sticky liquid drips on the floor.

Jan 2012 - On my 3rd visit to Segambut service center the mechanic found out the radiator hose is leaking. To my surprised the service centre didn’t have the spare part. It took days for the part to arrive. Now only the mechanic realized and said it was dangerous to drive the car, so the car was hospitalized for a few days.

Now I am waiting for a call from the Segambut service centre to collect my car. No specific date was given to me.

ANOTHER VIVA USER EXPERIENCE
One day at Perodua service center, while waiting for my car to be checked, I chit-chat with a man who used to own Viva car. He lives in Gombak. He had unresolved steering problem. The car made a sound every time he turned the steering. Even after changing the same parts a few times, the problem was not solved. He did not want to go thru all the troubles to ask for a replacement of a new Viva car. I think, he believed even a new Viva car would come with the same problem. So he sold-off his problematic Viva car.

PERODUA CAR ACCORDING TO MECHANIC
I met a car mechanic. He asked me why I bought Viva. I answered because it is cheap. From his experience he told me that Viva cars has lots of problem. After 4-5 years of use, the wiring problem can occur. And to repair the wiring problem, it can cost up to RM400. But the mechanic did not tell me other problems.

MY RECOMMENDATION
Never ever buy Viva cars. The car is assembled by Banglas. No quality control checks. The cars are released from factory without proper tests carried out. Salesmen simply deliver the car without much knowledge about the car. The salesmen have no checklist when delivering the car to the customer.

As for mechanics at Perodua service center, they just came out from unknown Pusat Latihan somewhere and have no experience. The mechanics take the customers’ complain lightly. No detail tests are carried out by service center when a customer complains. The service centre don’t keep spare parts and it takes days for the spare parts to arrive from the factory as though the factory is located overseas. Never buy Viva cars- 2nd hand Viva cars or new Viva cars.

Engines and performance

I want to talk about some characteristic about perodua viva..

Viva comes with 3-cylinder engine choices: 660 cc, 850 cc and 1000 cc. They are familiar engines but updated with modern technology such as DVVT (Dynamic Variable Valve Timing) and EFI, and they all have twin overhead camshafts to provide even stronger low-speed pulling power, resulting in fewer gearchanges, yet also manages to increase top end power. Other innovations include a resin port intake manifold and a head cover incorporating an air-cleaner casing.

* EF-VE 660 (659 cc) – at 7200 rpm, at 4400 rpm also used in Daihatsu Hijet
* ED-VE 850 (847 cc) – at 6000 rpm, at 4000 rpm which is developed from the engine that powered the Daihatsu Move
* EJ-VE 1000 (989 cc) – at 6000 rpm, at 3600 rpm also used in some versions of Dyhatsu Sirion and perodua myvi

Fuel economy varies from 15.1 km/l (42.6 mpg (imp)) for the fully loaded 1000 cc auto version to the very thrifty 18.7 km/l (53 mpg) for the basic 660 cc model. For the 1000 cc manual the 0-100 km/h time is about 12.80 seconds. The engine torque band is not peaky and timing it takes to hit is good. It may be pushed to without much effort. However the engine drones at such speeds. Top speed is around .

Maintenances cost and service cost for Perodua Viva

Every car must have is own period for maintenance & service. For basically my  Perodua car, the cost will not be the same because the raw material cause always change from time to time. It also applicable for all type of maintenance in every car.

For my Perodua viva basically :

1. First service will cost in average:RM180. The part was including engine oil(3l SL), gear box oil (dextron       111 1.7l), oil filter, gasket.(not including service charges because for 1st-3rd service will get free                    service@ labor charges). For 1000km.

2.second service will be less expensive because does not need to change gear box oil. The cost will be in          RM120. For 5000km

3. 3rd service will cost rm200 because need to change spark plug for engine. For 10000km.

4. Normal service will cost RM230 because has service @ labor charges. For every 10000km

5. Major service will cost RM350 because will change engine oil, gear box oil, spark plug, radiator oil,             brake oil and etc. For every 20000km.

Some of accessory we need to change in 20000km was cabin filter( because it will give better air into our car during air con), battery terminal protector, and battery water. (to ensure log life battery for our car)

Perodua Viva -Save Fuel Consumption

FUEL CONSUMPTION of a car or vehicle now is the big issue for us to take into account especially when you want to buy a car. Here we would like to generate a new and genuine database about your car fuel consumption (data penggunaan minyak kereta) by sharing info of fuel consumption regarding each car that you have used and are using now. We just hope all info here are totally true and calculated using a standardized format on how to calculate fuel consumption.

Basically there are two type of how you calculate your FC (cara kira penggunaan minyak) which is by filling up to full tank or filling when the fuel warning light illuminate.

For 1st way of calculating fuel consumption by filling up to full tank is more accurate and easy by filling your car with full of petrol. Just tell the petrol station staff to fill up “full tank” and fill it up until the pump stop. Then set the kilometer trip meter (meter jarak perjalanan) to zero and start your journey. Then after 30 or 50km, go to fill up your car again until full tank. The amount of RM or litre that you fill the second time is the fuel consumption of your car when you travel 30 or 50km.

Then try to calculate like this. For example you have travel 50 km and you pump up RM10 of 5.555 litre petrol in your car with fuel until full tank on 2nd time. It means that you have used 5.555 litre petrol in 50km. Then lets get the standard measurement of fuel consumption in km/litre. Just doing a division of 50km divide 5.555litre which will show you thefuel consumption of 9km/liter. Try to do the same way on how to calculate the FC until you get the average FC (fuel consumption)

The 2nd way to calculate fuel consumption is by filling up fuel when the fuel warning light illuminate. I always use this way because you will get the most fuel efficient fuel consumption due to less weight of fuel pumped in your tank. How to do that? It is simple. Just reset the kilometer trip meter (meter jarak perjalanan) to zero whenever your fuel warning lights illuminate. To get more accurate value, try to travel around 5km more to see if the light is off or not. If the light is still illuminate means it really have reached the minimum level. If it is not illuminate, travel more again until the light illuminate for the 2nd time and reset the trip meter to zero. Then go to petrol station pump and fill up around RM10 which is 5.555litre (fuel price RM1.80/litre) . Then travel anywhere until the warning lights illuminate and look at the trip meter will show you how many kilometer you can go with RM10.

Then do the calculation like the first way. To get the km/litre, just take the reading of your trip meter for example 50km divide by 5.555litre. To get the cent/km or RM/KM, just divide RM10 with 50km which will show you the result of fuel consumption of RM0.20/kilometer.

Please share with us your car fuel consumption (true facts) in the comment section below by using this format:
1) Car Model : Proton Saga BLM 1.3litre auto
2) Petrol Used : Shell RON97
4) Fuel Consumption :

Worst FC (in city/ heavy traffic) : 9km/litre
Best FC (on highway): 13.5km/litre
AverageFC (usual FC): 11.5 to 13 km/litre

5) Extra Note: any modification?, oil used, your car total kilometer traveled, any info affecting your fuel consumption? etc..
